About
We have been married for 23 years… but who’s counting. We met in 1976 when her father retired from the Air Force and moved to Ormond Beach, FL. That was the summer between 5th and 6th grade for us. I ran home and told my mother I was going to marry her. Fortunately I decided to wait until we were a little older, a little wiser and a marriage down for each of us. I always tell her that she finally came to her senses and married me.
I have been in the computer business for the last 20 years since my three year commitment to the U.S. Army. Oh I played around a bit as a clerk for a local 7-eleven, a saw operator at Homac, an electricians apprentice for a few of the local union electrical contractor shops and finally working for her parents. That’s where my career really took shape. That was my complete exposure to computers and my never ending desire to make them work for me. I spent three years in Baton Rouge, LA working for a company writing software with the founder of that company. After three years of living there and missing the ocean I had to come back to Florida. Its funny how you spend your whole life wishing to leave only to turn around and wish to go back. So here I am, back in Florida, no job, but looking hard. Found myself hired by the City of Ormond Beach Police Department as their “Data Records Management Supervisor”. It was a great experience. I was there when we had the great fires of ’98. Never heard the phone ring so much as it did then. Taught me a lot about myself and the people around me. It taught me what it meant to be a member of public service. While we make sacrifices, the rewards can be plentiful if you are inclined to believe that the satisfaction you feel by helping others is the reward. Well I did finally end up with the City of Holly Hill as their Information Technology Director. I have been here for over 7 years now. It has to be one of the best places if not ‘the” best I have worked. The City Manager Joe Forte takes to heart his responsibilities to the citizens and employees alike… I have a feeling rotten politics will change that one day but for now… anyone questioning his ethics clearly thinks only of themselves… But I digress…
Pam? She has been working for her parents for as long as I have known her. I will let her tell her story if she likes… in the mean time please visit our gallery. We have lots of pics of our family. Click on Bradyn Allen Stanley, our grandchild to view the latest pics.
